Hi, not sure if this is the right place for such matters but I would be curious to know what FOW members think of the following 7 night, late august, tow-person trip plan.

We have made arrangements for the train to stop at mile 43,3 at Redhead lake. From there we plan on descending the Nemo to Snake, then through Windfall and up to Brennan to see the Falls, then back whence we came, up the Allanwater to Stump, Gault, Flindt, Wilkie then Heathcote and train-out at Flindt landing.

I don't imagine that this is terribly ambitious in terms of distance. My concern is about direction of travel. From watching Kevin Outdoors' excellent video of his trip from Brennan up the Allan into the Flindt system, he seemed to do a fair bit of lining. Would it be better to travel in the opposite direction, down the Flindt and Allan, then up the Nemo? I have a secondary concern about water levels on the Nemo late in August. Perhaps another exit/entrance to the park would be better?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

    Ian

    Hi Ian,

We did a section of the Allanwater in August last year (Brennan Lake to Wabakimi Lake). We also did the stretch from Change Lake to Brennan (not sure if this is the Nemo River, but it is part of the route you describe). The Allanwater is a voluminous and fast moving river at times, and we were glad to be headed downstream. On the other hand, Change Lake to Brennan Lake can easily be done in either direction. Good luck.
